The LUMINOUS Lantern Parade in Brisbane is a celebration of culture and a warm welcome to immigrants from throughout the globe. The lantern procession will include various multicultural Australian symbols, such as koalas, kangaroos, owls, and clownfish. The lion of LUMINOUS 2022 will also be a rainbow snake. Indigenous elders, refugee and migrant groups, religious organisations, and schools are vital march participants.
The LUMINOUS Lantern Parade occurs during Australia’s most prominent ethnic festival, the Archdiocese of Brisbane. The celebration honours the rich history and diversity of our nation. This year, more than one million people from all around the globe will attend. More than 1,500 lanterns will be included in the LUMINOUS Lantern Parade, highlighting the rich cultural variety of Australia. Participants are urged to don their native Australian garb or cultural jewellery.
The light parade begins at six o’clock at Flowstate on the South Bank and concludes at the South Bank Piazza, where there will be a free concert of global music. Free and open to the public, various artists will follow the Lantern Parade. After the parade, you may enjoy the evening’s free international music performance performed by multicultural performers.
The LUMINOUS Lantern Parade is a multicultural event that will illuminate Brisbane’s South Bank on June 10, 2022. Thousands of candles will illuminate the colourful lanterns and entertainers to welcome new residents and celebrate Queensland’s rich cultural history. The march will occur between 6 pm and 8 pm, followed by an international music concert on the Piazza.
In its fifteenth year, the LUMINOUS Lantern Parade will showcase the culture of the state and welcome newcomers to Queensland. It will include an iconic lantern procession that runs down the promenade while overlooking the cityscape. In its 15th year, the LUMINOUS Lantern Parade is sure to illuminate the night sky and welcome visitors from all around the globe.
