The Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ) will mark its 50th anniversary with a special celebration in October, bringing together community leaders, government representatives, sector partners, supporters and friends to recognise five decades of work with Queensland’s multicultural communities.
The anniversary event will celebrate ECCQ’s contribution to community leadership, advocacy and inclusion across Queensland. It will also honour the people and partnerships that have helped shape the organisation’s work over the past five decades.
The celebration is scheduled for October 29, 2026, at Speaker’s Green, Queensland Parliament House. Guests will arrive from 5.30 pm, with the event scheduled to begin at 6 pm.
ECCQ said the gathering would provide an opportunity to reflect on its journey and the impact of its work while looking ahead to the future of multicultural Queensland.
The event will bring together representatives from government, community organisations and the broader multicultural sector, highlighting the relationships and partnerships that have supported ECCQ over the years.
Registrations are now open for the anniversary celebration, with community members, supporters and partners invited to attend the milestone event.
