The Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia (FECCA) will hold its 2026 National Conference on October 15-16 at Parliament House and Old Parliament House in Canberra, bringing community leaders, advocates and policymakers together to discuss the future of multicultural Australia.
The conference is being delivered in partnership with the ACT Multicultural Council (ACTMC) and will explore how connection and solidarity can strengthen belonging, inform policy and contribute to a more inclusive and resilient Australia.
This year’s theme, “Navigating Change, Shaping Australia – Many Stories, One Future,” highlights the strength of Australia’s diversity and the importance of moving beyond simply “tolerating” multiculturalism towards recognising it as a foundation for social cohesion and national growth.
FECCA said the 2026 conference would provide an opportunity for participants from across Australia to come together, share experiences and discuss ways to strengthen relationships and solidarity in a changing social environment.
The conference will also examine how communities can work together to shape an Australia where everyone feels they belong and can contribute.
Registrations are open, with opportunities available for conference participation, presentation proposals and sponsorships.
The conference comes at a time of social and demographic change, providing a platform for community representatives and other stakeholders to share ideas, learn from one another and discuss the future of multiculturalism in Australia.
