Nelson Mandela Day was celebrated on July 18, in tribute to the extraordinary global advocate for equality, peace, racial harmony and justice.

This year’s theme, One Hand Can Feed Another, recognised the power of collaboration and friendship across culturally diverse communities, and stands as a call to action to tackle food insecurity in South Africa by working together.

Multicultural Australia’s CEO Christine Castley and staff attended the African Professionals of Australia – Queensland’s 2021 Mandela Celebration at Queensland Parliament.

Christine Castley spoke at the event of the pride in celebrating and promoting the strength, cultural richness and positive contributions the diverse multicultural communities bring to Queensland.
