The Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ) and Cairns Regional Council will hold a practical workshop on October 7 to help community members, volunteers, committee and board members and staff strengthen governance and leadership practices in community organisations.
The Governance for Community Organisations workshop will focus on the fundamentals of good governance and leadership and provide participants with practical insights to help their organisations operate effectively and develop a stronger and more sustainable future.
The session will cover the key principles of good governance, leadership roles and responsibilities, practical governance practices, and strategies for building strong and sustainable organisations.
The workshop is open to people involved in community organisations in different capacities, including community members, volunteers, committee members, board members and staff.
The session is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, from 5.30pm to 8.30pm AEST at the Cairns Regional Council Chamber, Level 3, Portsmith.
ECCQ and Cairns Regional Council are presenting the workshop as an opportunity for community organisations to strengthen their governance knowledge and leadership capacity.
The programme is aimed at providing practical guidance that participants can apply within their organisations, including in areas relating to leadership responsibilities, governance practices and organisational sustainability.
The workshop will also examine strategies that can help community organisations build stronger structures and plan for a sustainable future.
