Multicultural Australia empowers refugees & migrants with workplace training in Toowoomba

April 15 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Brisbane, April 14 (MCCQ Newsdesk)
Multicultural Australia recently launched a vital workplace training initiative in Toowoomba, aimed at equipping refugees and migrants with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the Australian job market with confidence.
In partnership with AimBig Employment—a Workforce Australia provider supporting job seekers across the Darling Downs—the first of several training sessions took place this week. The session focused on key aspects of Australian workplace culture, rights, and responsibilities, especially tailored for job seekers from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Multicultural Australia’s Cultural Capability and Worker’s Rights specialists delivered in-depth presentations on interpreting pay slips, understanding employment norms, identifying wage theft, and avoiding exploitation. The session also covered how to communicate effectively with employers and where to access support and advice.
Participants left the session with increased awareness, practical tools, and a renewed sense of confidence to move forward on their employment journey. This initiative marks a significant step in ensuring more inclusive and equitable access to meaningful work opportunities for Queensland’s diverse communities.
