The Multicultural Communities Council Gold Coast (MCCGC) recently hosted an insightful and empowering workshop, led by Peter Clark from Brahma Kumaris, and inspired by Mike George’s book Don’t Get Mad, Get Wise. The session, delivered by MCCGC’s Community Participation and Capacity (CPC) team, welcomed 20 enthusiastic participants keen to explore new ways of managing emotions.
The workshop focused on practical techniques for understanding, accepting, and transforming emotional responses, especially in challenging situations. Emphasizing self-awareness and staying future-focused, participants were introduced to the powerful principle: “Don’t suppress, repress, or express… learn to transform.”
Through guided reflection and group discussion, the session encouraged deeper emotional intelligence and resilience, empowering attendees to make wiser, more thoughtful choices in moments of stress or conflict. MCCGC’s CPC team continues to create opportunities for community members to grow personally and emotionally, supporting mental well-being and positive social connection.
