Digital Sisters workshop empowers new arrivals with online safety skills

Brisbane, April 14 (MCCQ Newsdesk)
Settlement clients on the Gold Coast recently gained vital digital skills at the latest “Digital Sisters” workshop hosted by the Multicultural Communities Council Gold Coast (MCCGC). Held over morning tea, the workshop provided a friendly and supportive environment for participants to build confidence in using technology.
Led by MCCGC’s lead digital mentor, the session introduced attendees to the Be Connected online safety website and offered practical tips on Wi-Fi use and data management. To ensure everyone could follow along, MCCGC’s language support workers were on hand to assist new arrivals by explaining key concepts in their first languages. Participants also benefited from personalised one-on-one and small group support throughout the session.
In a recent Facebook post, MCCGC reaffirmed its commitment to continue delivering these valuable workshops regularly, helping migrant and refugee communities feel more confident and secure in today’s digital world.
