DESCRIPTION:Brisbane: St.Thomas\, the Apostle Syro Malabar parish of Brisbane South is hosting a multi cultural day at its parish premises located at 108-112 Middle Road\, Hillcrest QLD – 4118 on 25th May 2019. It follows a successful event held last year with participation from over three thousand people from different cultural background and nationalities. The event supported by the Queensland Government and the Logan City Council\, aims to celebrate the cultural diversity of people living in the area. \nThe event will include live cultural performances\, multi-cuisine food\, outdoor games\, animal farm\, pony rides\, kids’ activities and raffles with attractive prices. The celebration committee head Mr.Francis Joseph has advised that the public will have free entry and limited on-site parking for the event. It is a day-long event that starts at 10.30 am. The groups that would like to register for live performances will need to contact the following numbers before 30th April 2019 to book your slot in: 0420 530 674 or 0452 649 950. Sponsorships to the event from the local businesses are welcome.

DESCRIPTION:The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (popularly known as the Hare Krishna Movement) takes great pleasure in inviting you to the Festival of Chariots event at King George Square at 12:30pm on 11th May 2019. \nThe event will attract up to six thousand people\, state\, national and global press\, and encourage integration and friendship among people of different cultures and faith communities across Queensland. \nThe launch of the event will take place at the centre of the event on stage in front of all attendees including the media. We would be grateful if you could also take part in a range of media interviews on the day to support the event and its role across the Queensland community and local economy. \nThe Festival begins at 11:30am with a lively street parade that invites the people of Brisbane to join in pulling a gigantic colourfully decorated Chariot through the CBD. Using two thick ropes\, the hand-drawn chariot— weighing four tonnes—will be accompanied by jubilant singing and dancing. The procession ends at King George Square around 12:30pm\, followed by a free festival showcasing the culture of the ancient East\, with a stage program\, market stalls and free vegetarian food. To escalate our celebrations\, we plan to share our joy by serving over 4000 plates of free food. \nWe have the commitment\, the vision\, significant support from the media and the community\, and the experience to make this one of the most vibrant festivals our city has ever seen. Expect all the fun of live music\, traditional dance\, martial arts\, yoga\, and cooking demonstrations\, fashion boutiques\, henna and face painting a special children’s activities program and more. \nMore information regarding this event can be found at www.brisbanefestivalofchariots.com.au.
